Marc Greenwood serves as the Executive Director of Place at Blaby District Council, a position he has held since April 2023. In this capacity, he is responsible for overseeing the council's diverse portfolio of place-related services. This typically includes critical areas like planning, economic development, communities, assets, health, leisure and tourism, all of which contribute to the quality of life and strategic growth of the district. Prior to his time at Blaby, Marc built his professional career at two unitary authorities, firstly Manchester City Council, where he programme managed a wide portfolio as part of the Council’s efficiency and improvement programme. Marc’s most recent role before Blaby was at Coventry City Council, where he led a wide range of services across public health, communities, adult social care and corporate policy. This has given Marc valuable experience that will enable him to inform and lead Blaby’s transition to a new unitary authority through the LGR process.
