Steve Bambrick is the Corporate Director at Buckinghamshire Council where he leads the planning, regeneration, housing and infrastructure services. With 30 years of experience in place based local government services, including leading Councils through local government re-organisation, he specialises in service improvement and project delivery. Steve has held senior roles in District and Unitary Council’s across England including in the north-east, west and east midlands and the south east. He was the Director responsible for the newly created planning function when Buckinghamshire Council was created in 2020 leading the service to become Planning Service of the Year in 2023 and was also personally recognised by the Royal Town Planning Institute in 2023 with a leadership award. Steve will share his experience through years of place-based leadership, including what challenges to try and avoid and opportunities to embrace to deliver success.
